Software Needs Attention After Launch

Launch is not the end of the work. An application that is left entirely alone does not stay as it was — the environment around it keeps moving.

Requirements change as the business changes. Frameworks and dependencies release new versions, and the gap between your version and the supported one widens quietly. Integrations change at the other end. Bugs surface in situations nobody anticipated. Users ask for improvements once they have lived with the software for a while.

None of this is alarming, and it is not a reason for urgency-driven messaging. It is simply the normal lifecycle of working software, and it is more economical to handle it steadily than to let it accumulate into a much larger modernisation project later.

Inherited Systems

We Can Work With Existing Applications

Support is not limited to software we built. A significant amount of maintenance work involves taking on an application originally developed by someone else — an in-house team that has moved on, or a previous supplier.

Where that is practical, we start with an assessment: reviewing the codebase, the dependencies, how it is deployed and what documentation exists, then agreeing an appropriate support or improvement approach from there.

We will not promise to take on every system. Some applications are built on technology we do not work in, and occasionally the honest answer is that modernisation should come before any ongoing support arrangement would be sensible. The assessment is there to establish which situation you are in.

How Support Arrangements Work

Support is agreed around what the system actually needs rather than sold as a fixed package. A stable internal application with occasional changes needs something quite different from an actively developed customer-facing platform.

We would rather discuss the realistic needs of your system and agree terms that reflect it than publish commitments that sound reassuring but do not match how the work is delivered. Response expectations and working arrangements are set out as part of that conversation.
