A rewrite is the most expensive option and frequently the riskiest. An application that has been running a business for years contains a great deal of accumulated knowledge — edge cases, rules and behaviours that are rarely written down anywhere else. Starting again discards that, and it tends to be rediscovered painfully, in production.

That does not make rewrites always wrong. Sometimes the platform is genuinely unsupportable, the original technology has no upgrade path, or the cost of each change has grown beyond the cost of replacement. When that is the case, we will say so.

Most of the time the answer sits between the two: upgrade the framework, replace the interface, update the dependencies, improve the structure where it hurts most, and leave the working business logic alone. We assess what you have before recommending which of those applies.
